    THAT the agenda for the March 11, 2025 Regular Meeting of Council be approved.

Mayor MacDonald to share the announcement of the newly appointed OIC for Pitt Meadows' Independent RCMP Detachment, scheduled to open in 2026.

An opportunity for Council to recognize Kick 'em Kenny, a Pitt Meadows-owned Affenpinscher, who won best of breed at the 149th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT the following items be received into the record:

Media Release dated March 6, 2025 announcing the City's success in securing federal funding to support the development of a community orchard and edible garden at Grabenhorst Garden.

Correspondence received from The BC Epilepsy Society and The Centre for Epilepsy & Seizure Education, with a request to illuminate City Hall in purple on March 26, 2025, in honour of Purple Day; an annual event that raises awareness about epilepsy and epilepsy-related issues worldwide.

Patrick Ward, Director of Planning & Development, to present an introductory overview of proposed updates to the City’s Official Community Plan (OCP) and Regional Context Statement (RCS), and provide an opportunity to give consideration to the early and ongoing consultation requirements of the Local Government Act (LGA).

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT Council:

    1. Has, pursuant to Section 475(2) of the Local Government Act, considered whether opportunities for consultation should be early and ongoing, and specifically whether consultation is required with:
      1. The Board of the Regional District in which the area covered by the plan is located, in the case of a Municipal Official Community Plan;
      2. The Board of any Regional District that is adjacent to the area covered by the plan;
      3. The Council of any municipality that is adjacent to the area covered by the plan;
      4. First Nations;
      5. Boards of Education, Greater Boards and Improvement District Boards, and
      6. The Provincial and Federal Governments and their agencies;

        and in that regard, considers the consultation described in the “Official Community Plan and Regional Context Statement Update" report presented at the March 11, 2025 Council meeting to be appropriate; AND

    2. Direct staff to proceed with the Official Community Plan and Regional Context Statement update, as described in the “Official Community Plan and Regional Context Statement Update" report presented at the March 11, 2025 Council meeting; OR

    3. Other.

Staff to provide a verbal update on the implementation of the Economic Development Strategic Plan and related initiatives supporting the local economy.

Kate Barchard, Corporate Officer, to provide an overview of a repeal bylaw to repeal 13 obsolete bylaws that were identified through Staff’s annual bylaw review process.

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT Council:

    1. Grant first, second and third readings to the “2025 Good Governance Repeal Bylaw No. 3015, 2025” as presented at the March 11, 2025 Council Meeting; OR

    2. Other.

Kate Barchard, Corporate Officer, to provide an overview of Indemnification Bylaw No. 3016, 2025. 

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT Council:

    1. Grant first, second, and third readings to Indemnification Bylaw No. 3016, 2025, as presented at the March 11, 2025 Council Meeting; OR
    2. Other.

Council gave first three readings at the March 4, 2025 Council Meeting.

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT Council:

    1. Adopt the "1939 - 1959 Financial Bylaws Repeal Bylaw No. 3007, 2025” to repeal expired financial bylaws as presented at the March 11, 2025 Council Meeting; OR
    2. Other.
