Council to recognize and congratulate five Ridge Meadows Minor Lacrosse teams for securing championship titles during the 2023 Provincial Box Lacrosse season.

Following her recital of the poem at the 2024 Afro Gala, Rachelyn Wonyeneh to share the poem 'I am a Black Girl' in celebration of Black/African cultural heritage and relationships.

    THAT the following items be received into the record:

Correspondence dated February 8, 2024, from United Way bringing awareness of 211’s invaluable role as Canada’s primary source of information on government and community-based, non-clinical health and social services.

Joint media release from Katzie First Nation and the City of Pitt Meadows dated February 13, 2024, regarding shared concerns of the funding shortfall to support the Pit Meadows Road and Rail Improvements Project’s proposed grade separation component at Harris Road.

Randy Clowes, CIBC Wood Gundy, to provide the annual overview of the performance of the City's investment portfolio for 2023. 

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT Council:

    1. Receive for information the Staff Report titled ‘2023 Investment Update’ as presented at the February 27, 2024 Regular Council Meeting; OR

    2. Other.

Guy Miller, Airport Manager, to provide an overview of Pitt Meadows Regional Airport's efforts to upgrade its Canada Border Services Agency ["CBSA"] designation to substantively enhance operations and the flow through capabilities of the airport.

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT Council:

    1. Approve a letter of endorsement outlining the City's support for the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport request for CBSA reclassification to AOE/15 as presented at the February 27, 2024 Council Meeting; AND
    2. Direct the Mayor and CAO to finalize and execute the letter; OR
    3. Other.

Justin Hart, Manager of Major Projects along with Tara Sauve, Manager of RCMP Support Services, to provide an update regarding the construction of the Autonomous RCMP Detachment and housing and support next steps.

Michelle Baski, Project Manager, Agriculture and Environment, to present an update on the preparation of the Urban Forest Strategy.

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT Council:

    1. Receive for information the report titled “Urban Forest Strategy Update” as presented at the February 27, 2024 Council meeting; OR

    2. Other.

Michelle Baski, Project Manager Agriculture and Environment, to provide on overview of the proposed resolutions for farm property tax reform to forward on to the Lower Mainland Local Government Association (LMLGA) for endorsement for the 2024 Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM).

  • Recommended Motion:

    THAT Council:

    1. Endorse the proposed resolutions and background documents for an Unfarmed Land Tax [Attachment D], School Tax Exemption [Attachment E] and Minimum Income Requirements for Farm Classification [Attachment F] as presented at the February 27, 2024 Council Meeting; AND
    2. Direct staff to forward the proposed resolutions and background documents to the Lower Mainland Local Government Association for consideration at its 2024 Conference; OR
    3. Other.

    1. Grant third reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2966, 2024 to permit a cannabis retail store at 112 – 19150 Lougheed Highway; OR
